Tamarack Valley Regional Recreation Facility Fund
Dear Supporters and Donors,
On behalf of the La Glace & District Agricultural Society, we would like to extend our sincere and heartfelt thanks for your generous support of our Ice Ice Baby Fundraiser. Together, our community accomplished something truly remarkable, raising over $1 million toward the purchase of our new ice plant. This achievement would not have been possible without the incredible generosity, belief, and spirit of our donors and supporters.
We are very pleased to share that the ice plant has now been delivered and installed, and our donor plaque wall has been completed. Seeing the names of so many individuals, families, businesses, and organizations displayed is a powerful reminder of what our community can accomplish when we work together.
We are also excited to announce that we have recently received $1.6 million in additional funding from the County of Grande Prairie. This funding allows us to move forward with the mechanical and electrical work required to make ice in the new recreation centre. Construction on this phase is already underway, and timelines currently indicate that the facility will be ready to make ice for the fall ice season.
While this is a major milestone, there is still work ahead. The Agricultural Society will continue fundraising to complete important remaining components, including the arena boards, dressing rooms, kitchen, and viewing areas, to ensure the facility can fully serve our community for generations to come. We will be working hard over the coming months to fundraise in every way we can to complete as much as possible to be ready for the fall.
We want to emphasize that this letter is first and foremost to thank you. Your past support has helped bring us to where we are today. We will not be reaching out to you with additional fundraising requests. However, if you do wish to contribute further or become involved again, we would be more than grateful and welcome you to reach out to us at any time.
Once again, we are tasked with raising a significant amount of funding in a short period of time in order to provide ice for families in our community. This time, we are incredibly excited that it will be in the new Tamarack Valley Regional Recreation Centre.
We would also like to acknowledge and thank those who supported this project prior to the Ice Ice Baby Fundraiser. Every contribution, no matter when it was made, has played a role in bringing this dream to life. We are currently working on plans to ensure that all supporters throughout the long history of this project are recognized within the new rink.
This facility represents more than just ice — it represents community pride, volunteer dedication, and a shared investment in our future.
